Acquisition of a house in tourist developments

If you decide to purchase an apartment or villa within a tourist resort, you should know that there are some specificities in the process of acquisition and subsequent use.

What is the advantage of buying in a tourist resort?
You can enjoy a set of hotel and other services, namely the maintenance and conservation of the property and common spaces, which can provide a more peaceful and pleasant enjoyment.

It also has the facility to monetize the periods that you do not use the property since there is a support structure for tourist activity.

In which types of tourist developments can you buy fractions or lots?
In those that have "accommodation units" of the apartment or villa type.

If you want to purchase an apartment or villa located in a tourist resort, before doing so you must confirm:

1- the existence and validity of the licenses applicable to the construction or operation of the tourist resort, with the City Council in which it is located;

2 - the existence of a constitutive title approved and registered at a Land Registry Office and at Turismo de Portugal, I.P.
